 If you are a group admin, you can delete a group for all group participants. You must remove all group participants before you can delete a group, and then exit the group.

When you delete a group, you will no longer see the group in your chat list and the chat history will be erased from your phone. Other participants will still see the group in their chat lists. However, no one will be able to send messages.

Remove group participants

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject. Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab.
2. Tap the participant’s name > Remove {participant} > OK.

Exit a group

After removing all group participants, you’ll need to exit the group.

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject. Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab.
2. Tap Exit group > EXIT.

Delete a group

After you exit a group, you have the option to delete the group.

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat, then tap the group subject.
   • Alternatively, tap and hold the group in the CHATS tab.
2. Tap Delete group > DELETE.
• If you don't want to delete the group media from your phone, make sure Delete media in this chat or Delete media in these chats is unchecked.
