Filmora Pro Masking Updated
Filmora Pro Masking Updated
Hello everyone! In this tutorial, we will learn the basics of masking in Film Pro. We will learn how to make and edit different shape masks. The mask on the layer is a shape that separates one part of the layer so that it is visible from the other part which is not visible.
It can be used to create different impressions, so let's see how to create it. Masking tools are located in the lower-left corner of the viewer panel. In FilmoPro, when we see a small arrow in the corner of an icon, we can click and hold it and more options will appear in the drop-down menu. Here we have some different hides.
First, we'll define the Rectangle Mask tool in the Viewer panel, and then we can draw a rectangle on the viewer. If we hold the shift key while drawing, the mask will be a perfect square and if we hold the Alt key, the shape will change from the centre, instead of scaling from the corner. This helps the mask to start drawing from the centre of the subject.
Inside the rectangle, part of the layer will be visible while the rest of the clip will be transparent. The mask will appear on the control panel. If we disable it, the mask will stop affecting the clip. If we click on this icon, it will change the affected part of the mask. If we choose the oval mask, then when we press and draw, we will draw the oval mask. With this format, we can also use the "Shift" or "ALT" hotkeys. The round rectangular mask is similar to a rectangular mask, but a popup will appear allowing us to adjust the roundness of the corners.
Polygon and star masks will always be drawn from its centre, and by moving the mouse around it we can change its scale and rotation. However, pressing "Shift" will lock the rotation. The popup window will allow us to adjust the rotation and number of points to adjust or distort the final shape of the mask. Only after creating the mask can the options of these popups be adjusted directly. Once we select another device, the window will close and we can no longer change these values. The free mask tool, which is like a pen in the corner, will allow us to create custom masks, or edit the shape of the mask already created in the clip.
To draw a new shape, we can create new points by clicking on our point of view. Each new point will be connected in a straight line to the previous point. If we click and drag, we will create a bezier that creates a curved letter. We can finish making our masks by explaining the points first. This will activate the mask and it will start to affect the clip.

This tool will be in edit mode whenever the mask is selected. To change the shape of the mask from the same tool, we can select it by clicking on any point and then move it. If it were a bezier point, we could click and drag through the circles to adjust the shadow of the curve. If we right-click on the point and select an unlocked curve, we will have a separate shadow for each part of the point, and if we convert it to "linear", there is no curve of the point Will be. We can click on the line to add a new point. We can drag a rectangle on the screen to select multiple points or press the "Shift" button to select the two points we want to include in our selection.

When more than one point is selected, this white rectangle allows us to measure the selected part of the mask. We can also move it, right-click and reverse select or select all points. To delete a specific point, we will right-click and press "Remove", but if we click "Reset", the point will return to its original state. If we go to the control panel, we can adjust the more settings of the mask in the display setting.
Stretching without changing the shape or position of the dots will extend or tear the mask. "Force Fridge" will darken the edges of the mask. This feature will help us to combine masked clips with the background. It can blur the inside, outside, or both of the masks. The rotation will change the linear shape to a curved shape without affecting the points.
